Penalty Shots

A penalty shot used to be one of the rarest things you could see in a hockey game and a moment you would always remember. Since shootouts became a regular part of North American hockey in 2005 it has taken some of the shine and the feeling of rareness that a penalty shot during the game can bring. As of April 2, 2026, I have seen 59 penalty shots take place during a CHL game, the shooter has been successful on only 17 of those 59 attempts. Here is a list of those penalty shots in order of the date they occurred.
